Our mission for Sunday School is to love all of our children and teach them to love and establish a relationship with God! We are able to spend time with these children anywhere from 30-45 minutes each Sunday. Those are some of the most wonderful minutes of our week. Some of these kids may have been coming to church all their lives, while others, may have never stepped into a church, and we are the first face of God they see. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” We prepare for our classes each week by not only making sure we have all of our notes and supplies, but it also means preparing our mind and body to stand in front of our children and teach them the word of God. We sometimes play games, do skits, or learn songs...whatever makes learning fun for the children. We teach ages four to twelve years of age which is divided into three classes, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12. Each age group is taught with a rotating team of teachers most of them being husband and wife. There are two teachers in each class at all times. We also have a couple of ladies who fill in when needed. Remember for many children, their Sunday School teacher becomes their first glimpse of Jesus. Kids are facing many different battles at home or at school, and sometimes, a Sunday School teacher who genuinely loves them and cares for them can help them feel that sense of security they are missing.
